Text & Style

Multi-line text, emojis; font, colors, background, spacing, align

2608 chars left

Enter = new line; vertical/credits mode respects lines.

Split by blank lines or add blocks; reorder freely

40px

Transparent shows a checkerboard in preview; export transparency depends on target format (e.g., WebM, some GIFs).

Avoid cramped lines in vertical/credits mode.

Alignment applies to vertical / tilted modes. Horizontal marquee is a single line.

GIF exports loop by default; video can loop N times or target duration.

Estimated duration: with current content, path, and speed, about 5.0s to scroll once.

Built for fast, reliable outputs

Everything happens in the browser: instant preview, no uploads. Direction, speed, tilt, fonts, and export settings stay in sync with what you see on screen.

Precision controls

Direction, speed, spacing, and alignment

Horizontal, vertical, or tilted modes with line height, alignment, and multi-block segments. Speed and duration estimates update live so you know the exact travel time.

Export ready

GIF, WebM video, or web embed code

Choose background (solid or transparent), set frame rate and dimensions, or grab a drop-in embed snippet for web pages and OBS browser sources.

Reliable preview

What you see is what you export

Fonts, colors, and motion match the live preview. Use the timeline controls to pause, loop, or restart while you tweak content.

Free vs Pro capabilities

Free stays focused on generation, preview, and GIF/WebM/MP4 export. Pro adds premium templates and cloud save/load for your personal configurations.

When you click a premium template or cloud-save entry, the flow first signs in, then routes to upgrade if needed.

What this tool does

Generate smooth scrolling text for tickers, credits, marquees, and vertical announcements. Swap between horizontal, vertical, and tilted perspective modes; change fonts, colors, and backgrounds; and preview the exact timing before exporting.

How to use

  1. Enter your text or split it into segments for multi-block credits.
  2. Select direction, mode (horizontal, vertical, tilted), and tweak speed until the estimated duration fits.
  3. Pick fonts, sizes, colors, and background (solid or transparent).
  4. Preview, pause, and restart to confirm the exact travel path.
  5. Export as GIF, WebM video, or copy the web embed code.

Tips for best results

  • Use segments for long credit rolls so you can reorder blocks independently.
  • Keep line height comfortable in vertical/tilted modes to avoid cramped text.
  • Transparent backgrounds work well for overlays; solid backgrounds help GIFs compress smaller.
  • Adjust speed to hit a target duration—looping previews help match video intros or outros.

FAQ

Common questions about exports, transparency, embeds, performance, and workflow.

Is Scrolling Text Generator free to use?

Yes. The core generator and exports are free to use in your browser. An account is only required for Pro features like cloud saves and billing.

Do you upload or store my text or exports?

No. Your text, preview, and exports are generated locally in your browser. We do not upload your content for processing.

Can I change direction mid-project?

Yes. Switch between right-to-left, left-to-right, bottom-to-top, or top-to-bottom at any time. The preview instantly reflects the new travel path.

Does the preview match the export?

What you see is what you export. Fonts, colors, spacing, and motion match GIF/WebM/Embed outputs, so you can trust the timing.

What formats can I export?

You can export an animated GIF or a WebM video, and you can also generate a web embed snippet to paste into a site or an OBS browser source.

Is transparency supported?

Yes. Use transparent backgrounds for overlays and embeds. For best transparency, export WebM; GIF support depends on the encoder and may look dithered.

How do I use the embed code in OBS?

Copy the embed snippet, add a Browser Source in OBS, paste the code (or host it on a page), and match the width/height. For transparency, use a transparent background and enable transparency in OBS where available.

How do segments help with credits?

Enable segments to split content into blocks, reorder them, or edit independently. Great for long credit rolls and multi-part announcements.

Do I need to install anything?

No installs required. Everything runs in your browser; exports are generated locally without uploading your text or assets.

How can I reduce GIF/WebM file size?

Use smaller dimensions, lower FPS for GIFs, fewer loops, and shorter durations. Solid backgrounds often compress better than transparency, and WebM is usually smaller than GIF for longer animations.

Why is export slow or laggy on my device?

Exports can be heavy at large resolutions or long durations (many frames). Try a smaller size, fewer loops, or shorter text. Closing other tabs can also help.

Will the font look the same everywhere?

Exports bake the pixels, so GIF/WebM will look consistent. For embed code, system fonts can differ across devices; web fonts depend on availability and loading.

Can I export MP4?

Yes. MP4 export uses a hybrid pipeline: WebCodecs + MP4 mux first, then ffmpeg.wasm if needed. If both engines fail, export stops with an explicit error.

What does Pro include?

Pro unlocks premium templates plus cloud save/load for your configurations. Existing free generation and export remain available.

Do I need to sign in before upgrading?

Yes. Checkout uses Google sign-in first so subscription ownership and Pro access can be linked to your account.
